Suzuki Thunder 125 Bobber

Ariez Thuex from K-Kustoms is probably my favourite Indonesian custom motorcycle builder. We’ve featured his builds and pics from around his garage more than once. Ariez works on custom motorcycles that are relatively small by North American standards, and he turns them into pieces of art appreciated on both sides of the Pacific.

For this build Ariez from K-Kustom took a standard motorcycle, a Suzuki Thunder 125. He kept the frame, motor and forks from the original, and not much else… and made a Suzuki Thunder 125 Bobber.

The main frame, sub-frame and swing arm were all modified as were the wheels and rims.

The Suzuki Thunder 125’s stock rear tire size is only 120 wide on a 17″ rim. The widest tire the motorcycle could tolerate is a 130. Ariez mounted a 160 wide on a 17″ on the bike by building an entirely new swing arm and a rear sub-frame.

“The rear subframe was the most difficult modification. I had to stretch teh subframe 7 cm, but only on the left side to get the chain aligned straight from the front to the rear sprocket.”

– Ariez

Ariez built all of the parts he needed himself, in his shop, in Indonesia, which has a bikerMetric sticker on the wall. We’re that famous.

Anyway… Building and creating all of the parts was a challenging task that Ariez took on without a bead roller so you can imagine the work that went into the gas tank, side covers, and rear fender.

Ariez built the bike over a span of 5 months on his free time. His favorite mod is the headlight.

The bike is up for sale for $20,000,000 rupiah, or about $1,700 USD. Sweet deal for a Suzuki Thunder 125 Bobber? I think so!
