499cc rudge dirt bike

A British company named Rudge Whitworth formed in 1895 with the merger of two bicycle companies named Rudge and Whitworth. They began to manufacture motorcycles in 1911 and went bust in 1938. I think. Wikipedia says 1946 but I’ve never seen a Rudge built after 1938 and really, don’t believe Wikipedia. Research and corroborate.

Regardless, after liquidating in 1933, they continued trading under the auspices of “The Gramophone Company,” which became HMV and then…. EMI.

EMI was the Beatles record company and therefore, I must play for you what I consider the most hardcore blues song ever recorded, John Lennon’s “Yer Blues,” recorded in 1968 at EMI’s Abbey Road studios on a couple of four-track recording machines patched together in what was then a revolutionary manner.

Yeah. Heroin and Yoko Ono will do that to ya, dude.

EMI also signed the *** Pistols. Motorcycles = Rock-n-Roll = Anarchy in the USA, motherf***ers!
