renowned wera and speed racer mister keyes allowed me into his personal garage in the backwoods of central jacksonville, florida yesterday. his business, cyco cycles can be found online here.
three years ago stan went to bonneville and beat the world speed record in the 500cc class by racing a honda cx500 to over 114 miles an hour.
tomorrow scott from godfrey vintage and i will be visiting him with scott’s bsa thumper, “the recycle” while i take an informative video of some clutch work stan is going to help us complete.
maybe afterward we’ll go to where the world record holding cx resides and take some pix of me drooling.
as you see, stan digs british bikes, specifically triumph and norton.
stan allowed me to take over 200 photos of his home garage where we all discovered there is much more than norton love going on.
the shed behind his garage includes dozens of old bikes waiting to be repaired; from a pugeot scooter to a montesa dirt bike.
and burlap sacks. lots of sacks…
and parts. lots of british motorcycle parts. there were so many i felt like running to the bathroom to **********.
alas, my friends would have known, and it would have been a little creepy. so i kept fiddling with the camera, kindly lent by scott’s friends john and kelly. look for a bunch of nice pix thanks to their generosity coming at your faces in the next few days.
later that night, at tattoo artist mike wilson’s garage, i managed somehow to grow an incredibly ornate new mustache.

all of the talk about vibrating motors made my ****** tingle.
not really. my ****** (aka: “the ho”) was back at the godfrey garage hanging with scott’s wonderful wife, shannon. when we returned, we brushed our faces, washed our teeth, and went out for dinner at a japanese steakhouse where i proceeded to down a few sake bombers.
stan’s business specializes in working on vintage motorcycles and his favorites are honda, suzuki, kawasaki, yamaha, triumph, bsa, and obviously norton.
