david morgan wrote me a month ago and i’m finally getting his bike posted. it’s a sweet cb750 hondamatic from 1978. here’s his tale:
Just bought this sweet chop a few months back from an add on Craigslist. One look was all it took for me to say I was going to buy this bike, running or not. I had no clue about the CB750 Hondamatic. I did a little reading on it and decided even if the motor is shot I could always find another 750 to drop in.
After a new battery and a carb cleaning she fired up and was begging to be taken out, so I obliged and took her on my maiden voyage with no tag and I did not give a hoot. Later the same day I came across hondachopper.com, put up some pics up and within 10 minutes I had located the builder.
He goes by the name of Roy “Fastmax” Richards out of Daytona and have been in contact with him to get some info, but my main reason for wanting this to get posted on bikerMetric is so people can see just how beautiful a CB750 can be, and to thank Roy for one **** of a bike.
In no way have I ever tried to take credit for this build and if you notice in one of the pics you will see “MFG. by ROYCO,: and Roy, if you ever run across this article, even if I get the bike repainted “MFG. by ROYCO” will be on this chop for as long as I own it! Which will be ’till the day I die!
