reader rides | benny’s 1980 cb900

i was in the middle of this post when my account was disabled for violation of blogger terms and services for some reason.

on the bM flakebook page, benny is known as “lee black.” interesting. here is what he wrote about his bike:

Okay, so maybe you know me as Lee Black on Facebook, what what the f**k is in a name?

I submit to you my 1980 CB900-C. Yeah, I went cruiser with it instead of the ever popular “cafe,” which is not my bag, baby. There really isn’t too much chopping that went on, I just added some quel s**t and rearranged some parts with other bikes.

I traded up for it – or so I thought – plus a parts bike. The joke was on me in the end, I guess. Oh well, you loose some and you loose some. Ha ha. Anyway, it has Intruder bars and controls, a FLH front fender on the rear, an home-made sissy bar made by guy I got the bike from, and a custom rattle can burnt copper and flat black paint job by me.

I layed it down in St. Louis a couple weeks ago and now it won’t run, but it still looks pretty, currently for sale or trade. I’m taking it to a wrench who knows what the f**k he is doing, and maybe I can get back out there and not loose another riding season. Maybe.

Wow, that sounded like some “poor me” s**t. Don’t get me wrong, some of you have been in this all your life. I am a late bloomer to the biker community, and I’m having the time of my life.

F**k yeah,

Benny
