you’re all doomed!

Okay, I’ve neglected my standard procedure of mentioning the noobs who have signed up to follow bM. It was nice to see new faces when I returned this week to pepper you all with more photos and information about metric bobbers, choppers, cafe racers and vintage European motorbike history.

We’ve had three new dudes click to be informed of new posts in the past week.

First, Kent Vanderploeg signed up to become a member of bikerMetric. Our humble home is the only place Kent follows and that’s darned flattering. Thanks for digging what is being laid down here, man. Comment any time and feel free to click the reaction boxes at the bottom of any post to easily voice your opinion.

Next to sign up in the past week was Lucas german. We are also the only site he follows. What’s with that all of the sudden? Thanks for coming around, Lucas. I hope what you find here is sufficiently entertaining and informative.

Lastly, MC Dreamer became known as a possible threat to national security when he clicked the wrong button last Wednesday. It’s good to have you, MC.

Here is a little thing I created this afternoon for everybody’s amusement. Seems that today’s artistic theme is blood drops and skulls. Symbols of life and death. Yes. That works…

  1. Thanks for the welcome! Lots of guys here with really cool bobbers/choppers/trackers. I don’t have anything that cool, but I do have a V-Star 1100 and I have a blast working on it. Hoping to find a good donor XS650 to start building a bobber for my wife to ride (me too!). Keep up the great posts!

  2. right on, kent. thanks for the compliment.

the v-star 1100 is a great bike. i suspect after viewing your photo that you have a lowering kit on it, and your pipes are, um, wide.

if you’re hoping to build an xs bobber for your wife, i’d suggest sticking to a brat style so she can have some spring. check out visual impact for a nifty kit that will help you do that.

  3. You’re right. A brat style is probably the best way to go. Looks like a nice piece of kit. The V-Star has been a blast as my first bike. I’ve put over 40,000 miles on that bike over the past 4 years touring around the country, but now it’s time to be my solo bike, and the transformation is underway. Air ride and 3″ pipes, cams, air kit, Barnett clutch conversion, and a bunch of other trick parts. Best part is getting to wrench on it myself. Thanks for the tip on the brat kit!

  4. if you go that way with visual impact, please tell michael i sent you, and send pix and build info as you move forward with the build, man. i’m sure many readers will be looking forward to it.
