on the road

when i read “on the road,” i was 19 and it changed my life. it was as if the day i heard john lennon sing “come together” but on paper. i recall how young i was and how the words flew off the page in a rhythm that made me feel free. now i could do anything.

there are days i can do what jack did. but i don’t touch my old typewriters much any more, neither do i play my guitar. now i simply want to go back and be that young man again, instead of sit here and cry. my words, wasted trying to manufacture motorcycle parts on a blog that means less to me with each passing day.

f***ing motorcycles. who cares?

  1. My dad gave it to me when I was 16, I never looked back.

Thanks man, great place to see that trailer for the first time.. It sometimes feels like the spirit of Dean lives through people like you :-)
Wish I was still riding my moped as hard and as much as that 16 year old kid did.

  2. Sometimes the words we think we’ve wasted are the payment our creator uses to buy the happiness of our friends. Our loved ones. Our fellow man. Hang in there, and don’t let the ************* ruin your day.
